Blending elements of psych, pop, and Neo-soul, Austin, Texas’s Ground Clouds was formed by Daniel Okonek in the first weeks of 2023. With members originating from both coasts, each has a unique artistic background that helps them to collectively mold their holistically haphazard sound.

Having formed just three months before SXSW 2023, Ground Clouds set the lofty goal of making their public debut performing at the annual Austin festival. Thanks to a spontaneous invitation courtesy of Chicken Ranch Records, they met that goal, performing for the label alongside Austin-based synth-wave group, Night Drive.

Amid a whirlwind of rehearsals, day jobs, and I-35 gridlock, the group managed to round out SXSW with a sunset performance at Adrian Grenier's private industry gathering alongside Texas natives Heartless Bastards and Los Coast. With big plans for 2024 including the release of their debut album and a North American Tour, Ground Clouds are currently busy in the studio and booking shows throughout Central Texas.
